Officials recommend keeping windows and doors closed, ensuring proper drainage to prevent waterlogging, and monitoring weather updates throughout the day.
The IMD also emphasised that sudden thunderstorms may lead to temporary traffic delays, minor electrical disruptions, and the possibility of falling weak tree branches. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor travel during peak rain periods and take precautions while participating in festive gatherings.Authorities are coordinating with civic and emergency teams to maintain safety and minimise disruptions to public events. With Durga Puja and Dussehra attracting large crowds across Delhi-NCR, this weather alert serves as a reminder for citizens to balance celebrations with safety.Experts also noted that while rainfall offers temporary relief from heat, urban areas could experience slippery roads and reduced visibility, necessitating cautious commuting. The advisory remains in effect until the evening, with a gradual decrease in rainfall expected in the coming days.
