Delhi Metro Urges Commuters to Stop Making Reels on Trains

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued a fresh advisory urging commuters to stop creating social media reels on metro premises, citing safety risks and the importance of a disturbance-free journey.

The advisory was shared on Wednesday via a post on X, formerly Twitter. “Metro is for travel, not for trends,” the DMRC said in the post, calling on passengers to prioritise safety over momentary fame. “So next time, let’s not make reels or encourage them, because a smooth, safe journey matters more than a few seconds of fame.” The message was accompanied by a visual campaign titled ‘No Reels on the Wheels’. Posters have also been installed at multiple metro stations to reinforce the message. One shows a man playing a guitar at a metro station with the line, “Your performance deserves a bigger stage than the metro.” Another features a girl dancing with the caption, “Dance like nobody’s watching – just not on the metro.”

The campaign aims to address a growing trend of passengers filming themselves dancing or performing in metro coaches or on station platforms. Such activities have not only caused inconvenience to fellow commuters but have also raised safety concerns in the confined and often crowded environment of the metro system. This is not the first time DMRC has cautioned against such behaviour. Over the past year, the corporation has repeatedly asked commuters to refrain from turning the metro into a stage for content creation. Despite previous advisories, the trend has persisted, prompting stronger messaging through posters and public appeals.

With rising concerns over passenger comfort and operational safety, the DMRC’s latest warning underscores the need for responsible behaviour in public transport spaces. The metro authority continues to appeal to commuters to treat the metro as a space for safe, efficient travel, not for viral content creation.
