The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) commemorated its 31st Foundation Day at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, recognising the contributions of its employees and stations to the city’s urban mobility.​
Union Minister and Delhi Chief Minister attended the ceremony, highlighting the metro’s role in enhancing public transport. Shri Manohar Lal emphasised the integration of green and renewable energy solutions in metro operations, aligning with India’s sustainable development goals. He reiterated that metro systems are vital for building smart, inclusive, and future-ready urban centres . The event featured the presentation of DMRC’s Annual Awards, honouring individuals and teams for their exceptional performance.Senior Station Controller/Train Operator, was named Metro Woman of the Year, while Shri Suresh Pawar, Senior Station Manager/Line Supervisor, received the Metro Man of the Year award. Karol Bagh Metro Station was recognised as the Best Metro Station, and Kalindi Kunj Depot was awarded Best Metro Depot. Ms. Anjali, Senior Customer Relations Assistant, earned the Rajbhasha Puruskar for her contributions. A special award for promoting team spirit was presented to the Metro Adventure Club (MAC) team .​
DMRC’s commitment to sustainability was also acknowledged, with its headquarters at Metro Bhawan achieving Carbon Neutral certification. This milestone reflects the corporation’s efforts in adopting advanced environmental practices, including energy-efficient measures and water conservation initiatives .​ The 31st Foundation Day celebration underscored DMRC’s dedication to providing efficient, eco-friendly, and inclusive public transportation, reinforcing its status as a leader in urban mobility.
