Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to maintain the Platform Screen Door (PSD) systems on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro for a period of three years. The contract, valued at ₹15.09 crores, spans 1080 days and covers comprehensive annual maintenance of the PSD systems, a vital part of the metro’s safety and operational efficiency.The Yellow Line, one of the busiest corridors of the Delhi Metro, stretches over 47.2 km, connecting Samaypur Badli in Delhi to the Millennium City Centre in Gurugram, passing through 37 stations.
The platform screen doors, installed across various stations on this line, play a critical role in ensuring passenger safety by preventing accidents, improving station operations, and reducing energy consumption.The bidding process for this maintenance contract began with the opening of technical bids on November 22, 2024. Four firms participated in the bidding process, with the evaluation of the bids taking place on December 26, 2024. After reviewing the technical proposals, two companies – MCML Projects Private Limited and Technocrats Kohlhauer Infrastructure Private Limited – had their bids rejected, leaving RT. Vision Technologies as the lowest bidder.
On March 24, 2025, following a financial evaluation of the bids, RT. Vision Technologies was officially awarded the contract. The company’s bid was deemed the most competitive, and it will now be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the PSD systems across the Yellow Line for the next three years.The maintenance of the PSD system is vital for the safe and efficient running of the metro network, ensuring that the platform doors remain in excellent condition and continue to function seamlessly as part of Delhi’s world-class metro system.
In related news, the Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line is set for further expansion. Mr. Tokhan Sahu, the Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), recently approved the extension of the Yellow Line from Samaypur Badli to Sonipat, passing through Nathupur.
