Delhi-Jaipur Expressway Link Slashes Travel Time to 2.5 Hours

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is poised to inaugurate a new 67-kilometre expressway link between Bandikui and Jaipur in June 2025. This addition to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is expected to reduce the travel time between Delhi and Jaipur to approximately two and a half hours, down from the current six-hour journey.

The new access-controlled highway will bypass the congested NH-21 route, offering a direct and uninterrupted path for commuters. This strategic move aims to alleviate traffic bottlenecks, particularly around Dausa, and provide a smoother travel experience. Officials from NHAI have emphasized the importance of safety and quality in the project’s completion. The final phase includes the construction of a railway overbridge, which is anticipated to be ready by the end of May. Temporary diversions may be implemented to ensure continuous traffic flow until the overbridge is operational.

This infrastructure upgrade is expected to not only reduce travel time but also stimulate regional economic growth by facilitating faster movement of goods and people. Moreover, it aligns with the government’s broader vision of enhancing national connectivity through the development of world-class expressways. Commuters from Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad will particularly benefit from this development, as the new link provides a more direct route to Jaipur, bypassing the need to navigate through smaller towns and villages. This improvement is anticipated to boost tourism and trade between the two cities, contributing to their economic prosperity.

As the opening date approaches, NHAI continues to ensure that all safety audits are completed and that the expressway meets the highest standards of infrastructure development.
