Delhi Airport launches Rs 199 luxury bus service to Noida
Delhi Airport is set to transform airport-city connectivity with the launch of India’s first luxury intercity bus service linking Noida and Greater Noida. Operated in partnership with a global bus service provider, the new facility promises passengers round-the-clock premium travel at an introductory fare of just Rs 199.
Officials stated that the service has been designed to give fliers a seamless and affordable connection between the airport and fast-growing urban clusters in Noida and Greater Noida. The buses will run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and cover key locations such as Noida Sector 16, Botanical Garden, Golf Course Road, Gaur City, JP Wish Town and Pari Chowk before reaching Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Each bus has been built to international standards, equipped with reclining seats, charging ports, cameras, trained staff and real-time tracking technology. With ample luggage space and accessibility features, the vehicles aim to make commuting not only more comfortable but also safer and more inclusive. The journey time from Greater Noida to the airport has been fixed at 130 minutes, providing a predictable schedule for travellers who often face uncertainty with road congestion.
Airport authorities highlighted that the launch aligns Delhi with the world’s leading airports such as Heathrow in London, Charles de Gaulle in Paris, and Schiphol in Amsterdam, where luxury surface transport options are integral to passenger convenience. The move is also being seen as part of a broader agenda to promote sustainable urban mobility. Experts suggest that mass premium transit options can reduce dependence on individual cabs, thereby cutting congestion and vehicular emissions around the airport corridor.
The ticketing process has been kept simple, with online bookings available through popular platforms including bus aggregator applications, online travel agencies and payment platforms, while offline counters will be set up at airport terminals. By keeping fares affordable, the service is positioned to appeal to both domestic and international passengers, as well as daily commuters who seek predictable and eco-friendly transport.
Urban mobility analysts have described the project as a timely intervention. With Delhi’s air passenger traffic continuing to grow and both Noida and Greater Noida expanding as residential and business hubs, the demand for reliable last-mile and intercity connectivity has reached critical levels. They point out that the affordability of the Rs 199 fare also makes the service accessible across social groups, avoiding exclusivity often associated with premium transport.
The initiative will be closely observed in terms of execution and uptake, but its potential to reduce carbon footprint and enhance passenger comfort makes it a forward-looking step. Delhi now joins the league of cities where airport connectivity is being redefined, not only as a matter of convenience but also as a commitment towards sustainable and equitable urban transport.
