Delhi, Tata Power played a pivotal role in the successful execution of the Shaurya Bharat EV Rally 2025, providing comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) charging support through its extensive EZ Charge network. This collaborative initiative, celebrating India’s armed forces, also served as a powerful demonstration of the nation’s accelerating transition towards sustainable mobility. The rally underscored the growing robustness of India’s EV infrastructure, vital for fostering zero-net-carbon and eco-friendly urban environments.
The rally, flagged off from Delhi, traversed over 600 kilometres through Murthal, Ambala, and Adampur (Jalandhar), before returning to the capital. Featuring a convoy of over 30 Tata Harrier EVs, the entire drive was seamlessly supported by Tata Power’s public charging stations strategically located along the route. This ensured zero range anxiety for the participants and uninterrupted travel, showcasing the practical viability of long-distance EV journeys in India’s evolving clean energy landscape.
Beyond being a tribute to India’s defence personnel, the Shaurya Bharat EV Rally functioned as a real-world stress test for the nation’s burgeoning EV infrastructure. Tata Power’s strategically positioned, high-performance charging points proved to be the indispensable backbone of this demanding, multi-city initiative. A Tata Power spokesperson highlighted that the event was more than commemorative; it was a clear demonstration of what is achievable when purpose aligns with robust infrastructure, paving the way for wider EV adoption.
Tata Power has aggressively scaled its EV charging ecosystem, now boasting over 5,400 public and captive charging points, more than 1.35 lakh home chargers, and over 1,200 bus charging stations spread across more than 600 cities. This comprehensive infrastructure supports all types of EVs, catering to individual users, commercial fleets, and large-scale institutional drives. Such widespread availability of charging solutions is crucial for mitigating range anxiety, a primary barrier to EV adoption, and accelerating the shift away from fossil fuel-dependent transport.
To date, Tata Power’s charging network has facilitated over 23.6 crore electric kilometres globally, contributing significantly to environmental conservation by helping avoid more than 1 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions from buses alone. The company has set ambitious targets to further expand its network, aiming for 7.5 lakh home chargers and 10,000 public charging points by 2030. These efforts are pivotal for India’s journey towards achieving its zero-net-carbon goals, improving urban air quality, and promoting sustainable transportation for all citizens, contributing to more equitable and healthier urban environments.
