Creative Newtech Wins Government Orders Worth Rs 54 Crores
Mumbai-listed technology firm Creative Newtech Ltd has captured fresh momentum in its order book after securing two government contracts from the Maharashtra administration valued at a combined Rs 54.15 crore, underscoring the evolving role of mid-tier tech firms in public sector digital infrastructure and emergency response provisioning.
The first contract, worth Rs 7.67 crore, has been awarded by the Motor Vehicles Department (RTO) of Maharashtra for the deployment of 600 body-worn camera systems with associated support infrastructure. These devices are expected to bolster transparency and accountability in enforcement and roadside operations across regional and deputy regional transport offices in the state.A significantly larger engagement, valued at Rs 46.48 crore, comes from the Department of Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation (R&R). Under this order, Creative Newtech will supply 2,677 disaster management and emergency response kits, with integrated equipment to support local and district-level disaster preparedness and response initiatives.
Though Creative Newtech operates as a relatively small-cap technology and hardware provider, these government contracts point to a broader trend of digitisation and modernisation within civic and emergency services. Industry analysts note that procurement of body-worn cameras by transport regulators aligns with national objectives to enhance enforcement efficiency and citizen trust, while investment in disaster response kits parallels state and national emphasis on climate resilience and community safety infrastructure.Creative Newtech’s business model has evolved beyond traditional distribution of information and communication technology products, expanding into integrated technology solutions and infrastructure supply — an evolution that has underpinned its ability to compete for state level contracts. The company’s recent financial indicators also reflect growth in core operations: its net sales surged nearly 59 per cent year-on-year in the quarter ended September 2025, while net profit climbed by over 43 per cent in the same period.
Experts tracking the firm’s trajectory say that expanding government engagements can provide stable revenue streams in an otherwise cyclical tech distribution market. At the same time, Creative Newtech’s classification as a “hold” stock by market research platforms suggests cautious market sentiment, where steady contract inflows must be balanced against broader competitive pressures and execution risks. From a public policy perspective, the awards also reflect an increasing reliance on private sector partners to strengthen essential civic services without the long-lead procurement cycles historically associated with large system integrators. Faster delivery of body-worn cameras could contribute to better law enforcement data and community interactions, while enhanced disaster response kits may augment local capacity to respond to floods, heatwaves and other climate-linked events.
The timing of these contracts comes as states nationwide are under pressure to modernise urban governance frameworks and embed resilience capabilities into civic operations. For Creative Newtech, delivery performance on these orders will be closely watched by investors and policymakers alike, as exe
