The 22.173 km route boasts a fully elevated structure, encompassing 19 strategically located stations. An official release indicates that the estimated cost of this transformative initiative is approximately Rs 5,865 crore, with a slated completion date by the end of 2027.
Chief Minister Shinde, speaking at the foundation laying ceremony held at an open ground in Dombivali, emphasised the pivotal role Metro Line-12 will play in enhancing connectivity within the MMR. He highlighted that the travel time between Kalyan and Taloja is anticipated to reduce by a substantial 45 minutes upon the project’s completion, a development that will significantly benefit commuters in the region.
“Metro Line-12 aspires to bring innumerable benefits to the residents of MMR as it will substantially elevate connectivity between Kalyan and Taloja (Navi Mumbai). The journey from Taloja to Kalyan, south Mumbai, Thane, Mira-Bhayender, and Virar will become shorter and more convenient,” stated Chief Minister Shinde. Moreover, the Chief Minister underscored the integral role Metro Line-12 will play in integrating Navi Mumbai, fostering connectivity between the Kalyan Dombivli region. This strategic expansion is anticipated to catalyse a new wave of development, propelling business growth and infrastructure enhancement in the surrounding regions. The Metro Line-12 project is a testament to the Government’s commitment to addressing the burgeoning transportation needs of Mumbai and its neighbouring areas. As the metropolis continues to evolve, such transformative projects are essential for propelling sustainable development and economic growth in the region.
