Cidco’s Affordable Housing Prices Start from ₹25 Lakh
The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (Cidco) has officially announced the pricing details for 26,000 affordable homes under its ‘My Preferred Cidco Home’ scheme, aimed at providing affordable housing solutions in Navi Mumbai. This initiative, which is expected to benefit the economically weaker sections (EWS) and low-income groups (LIG), has already garnered significant attention. Due to the overwhelming demand, the application deadline for the scheme has been extended three times, with the final date set for 10 January.
The housing projects, which are located across nine prominent nodes in Navi Mumbai, include Vashi, Bamandongri, Kharghar, Taloja, Mansarovar, Khandeshwar, Panvel, Kalamboli, and Kharkopar. The announcement of the prices brings the scheme a step closer to its intended beneficiaries and aligns with the objectives of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), a government initiative aimed at ensuring housing for all. The houses are available in two categories: EWS and LIG. For the EWS category, which targets individuals with an annual income of up to ₹6 lakh, prices range between ₹25 lakh and ₹48 lakh. The LIG category, designed for those with an annual income exceeding ₹6 lakh, is priced between ₹34 lakh and ₹97 lakh.
Cidco has noted that the release of pricing details is expected to lead to a surge in applications, as many potential applicants had been waiting for the prices to be disclosed before making their decisions. With greater clarity on costs, Cidco anticipates strong participation from the public in the coming days. “This is an important step in realising the vision of affordable housing for all, and we are optimistic about the response from the public now that the prices have been revealed,” said a Cidco official. The initiative is part of Cidco’s broader mission to ensure access to quality housing for all income groups, thereby contributing to the growth and development of Navi Mumbai as a key urban hub.
