CIDCO Housing Scheme Extends Registration After 92,000 Applications

CIDCO’s ‘Select My CIDCO Home’ Mass Housing Scheme has generated a tremendous response, receiving over 92,000 applications within a month of its launch. To accommodate the overwhelming demand and provide additional time for citizens to apply, CIDCO has extended the registration deadline to 11th December 2024.

Launched on 11th October 2024, the scheme offers 26,000 affordable housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Low-Income Groups (LIG). The housing units are spread across prominent nodes of Navi Mumbai, including Vashi, Bamandongri, Kharkopar, Kharghar, Taloja Mansarovar, Khandeshwar, Panvel, and Kalamboli.

The unique feature of the scheme lies in its flexibility, allowing applicants to choose a tenement that best suits their preferences. “In addition to affordable pricing, this scheme enables citizens to enjoy the benefits of Navi Mumbai’s modern infrastructure, excellent connectivity, and quality construction,” said a CIDCO official. To further ease the application process, CIDCO has relaxed certain conditions. Applicants can now submit non-barcoded Domicile Certificates during online registration, provided they submit the barcoded version before receiving their allotment letter. The requirement for affidavits on stamp paper has also been simplified to a self-attested affidavit on plain paper. This extension gives applicants ample time to arrange necessary documents, such as income and domicile certificates.

CIDCO has positioned this scheme as a significant step towards realising the housing dreams of Navi Mumbai’s residents. With its state-of-the-art infrastructure, well-planned urban development, and affordable prices, Navi Mumbai continues to attract homebuyers from across the region. “This is a golden opportunity for citizens to own a home in a well-developed city. CIDCO urges eligible applicants to seize this chance and register before the extended deadline,” added the official.
