Chittoor Villages Embrace Super Six Welfare, Mango Support And Power Boosts
A year into Andhra Pradesh’s coalition government, rural communities in Gangadhara Nellore have voiced strong support for the ongoing ‘Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu’ campaign, which highlights the delivery of the State’s flagship ‘Super Six’ welfare schemes. With ministers engaging in village-level outreach, the initiative has reaffirmed public confidence in targeted support for farmers, enhanced rural infrastructure, and responsive governance.
During a door-to-door campaign, officials directly engaged with households to raise awareness about social schemes and development milestones. Authorities reiterated the government’s commitment to ensure that all eligible citizens access their entitled benefits. The interaction focused on transparency in service delivery, speedier implementation, and improved civic trust in governance structures. Officials noted a remarkable upswing in Totapuri mango production—from 2.5 lakh metric tonnes in 2024 to over 7 lakh metric tonnes this year—attributing it to sustained agri-policy intervention and price support mechanisms. In an effort to ensure fair market returns, pulp-processing units have been instructed to pay ₹8 per kg to cultivators, with an additional ₹4 per kg subsidy transferred directly into farmers’ bank accounts.
The success of the campaign in Chittoor also underlines a shift in how governance is being perceived at the grassroots level—moving beyond announcements to measurable outcomes. By combining social outreach with tangible economic benefits, especially in the farming and infrastructure sectors, the initiative demonstrates a scalable model for rural development. As Andhra Pradesh looks to consolidate its welfare delivery architecture, the emphasis on dialogue-driven engagement and targeted subsidies could play a pivotal role in fostering inclusive growth and climate-resilient livelihoods. In parallel, investments in rural infrastructure are being prioritised to address power reliability. Proposals to establish three new substations in Balaganganapalli, Gadanki, and Ramachenupalli are underway to improve the electricity distribution network and enable energy access in underserved pockets.
