A group of environmental activists in Chennai has reached a milestone by completing 1,000 days of relentless climate action within their communities. Their commitment aims to mitigate the severe impacts of climate change, bolstering the city’s green cover, environmental preservation, waste recycling and climate risk reduction.
The residents are supporting the state government’s endeavour to increase Chennai’s green cover to 33 percent. The efforts of green warriors have not only contributed to environmental protection but also yielded tangible results in the form of enhanced greenery, biodiversity preservation and safeguarding precious water bodies.
