Constructed using over 28,000 metric tonnes of steel and 66,000 cubic meters of concrete, the bridge is designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, including wind speeds up to 260 km/h and seismic activity of up to magnitude 8 on the Richter scale. The use of corrosion-resistant materials ensures the bridge’s longevity, with an expected lifespan of over 120 years.
The construction process was a feat of engineering ingenuity. Due to the challenging terrain, traditional methods of bridge construction were not feasible. Instead, engineers employed a technique known as incremental launching, using two massive cable cranes installed on either bank of the river to gradually assemble the arch.
