Energy tech start-up chargeMOD and Guwahati-based firm A Plus Charge have announced a collaboration to establish over 1,000 EV charging stations across Northeast India.
This partnership aims to enhance accessibility to EV charging facilities in the region. With the addition of these new chargers, chargeMOD’s network will expand to a total of 4,200 charging stations nationwide, including 2,000 already operational and 1,200 recently announced charging stations.
Established in 2019, chargeMOD, incubated under the Kerala Startup Mission, has developed a significant presence in the EV charging domain with over 2,300 charging stations spanning 10 states. Notably, chargeMOD serves as Kerala’s primary public EV charging provider for autos and has developed an indigenous mobile app for locating charging stations. A Plus Charge, a division of AlternatEV Solutions Private Limited, is actively involved in Assam’s transition towards electric mobility. The company’s efforts extend beyond installing EV charging stations to include various transportation sectors such as electric cars, rickshaws, and buses. With a focus on public transportation, A Plus Charge offers tailored charging solutions for EV cab fleets and electric buses, contributing significantly to the region’s sustainable mobility initiatives. The collaboration between chargeMOD and A Plus Charge is expected to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility in Northeast India. By expanding the EV charging infrastructure, the partnership aligns with the broader national agenda of promoting clean and sustainable transportation solutions.
