Central Railway Diverts LTT Trains To Gonda, Azamgarh Temporarily
Due to ongoing infrastructure work at Gorakhpur station, Central Railway has temporarily extended two Gorakhpur-bound trains to Gonda and Azamgarh. The changes are effective immediately and will continue through early December 2025. The temporary extension aims to maintain uninterrupted services for passengers during the construction period and improve operational flexibility for the railway zone while Gorakhpur undergoes repairs and upgrades.
The LTT-Gorakhpur Godan Express (Train No. 11055) will now terminate at Gonda instead of Gorakhpur until 7th December 2025. Departing from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 10:55 AM, it will reach Gonda at 11:00 PM the following day. The return service, Train No. 11056, will also start from Gonda during this period. Officials stated the extension was needed to ensure smooth operations as work progresses at the original terminal.
In a similar move, the LTT-Gorakhpur Superfast Express (Train No. 20103) has been extended to Azamgarh. This train will now continue its journey past Gorakhpur and arrive at Azamgarh until 5th December 2025. The train departs from LTT at 5:23 AM and reaches Azamgarh by 3:15 PM the next day. The return journey (Train No. 20104) will begin from Azamgarh and operate on this modified route until 6th December.
Railway officials said these route extensions are temporary and designed to accommodate track and station upgrades at Gorakhpur. The infrastructure work, which includes signaling and platform improvements, will make future operations more efficient. By extending services to nearby stations, railway authorities hope to reduce passenger inconvenience while ensuring that existing long-distance travel options remain available during this maintenance phase.
Passengers are advised to check updated schedules and boarding stations before planning their travel, as services now originate and terminate at different locations than usual. The Railways has assured that all bookings and ticketing systems have been updated to reflect the temporary changes. Authorities are monitoring operations to address any passenger concerns and ensure minimal disruption while work continues at Gorakhpur station through the end of the year.
As infrastructure work continues at Gorakhpur, the temporary extension of LTT-bound trains to Gonda and Azamgarh ensures that passengers still have reliable travel options. The revised routes will be in effect until early December. Central Railway aims to complete the upgrades efficiently while managing daily operations through these short-term adjustments, reinforcing its commitment to better travel infrastructure and commuter convenience.
