Global building materials supplier Cemex has officially inaugurated its
advanced construction, demolition and excavation waste recycling facility,
strategically situated in Tel Aviv, Israel.
This newly established site holds a pivotal role in advancing Cemex’s circularity
efforts, aligning with its innovative Regenera business initiative. Over time, it is
anticipated to receive a substantial 500,000 tonne of construction waste
annually. This material will undergo processing and find application, as
appropriate, in the creation of recycled building materials.
The primary suppliers of materials for this facility are expected to include
companies engaged in the demolition of existing structures and those involved
in the transportation of construction waste. On the other side, the recipients of
recycled materials in Israel encompass concrete companies, flooring contractors
and infrastructure firms.
Regenera, an integral facet of Cemex’s strategy, provides sustainable solutions
for three key waste streams: municipal and industrial waste, construction,
demolition and excavation waste, and industrial byproducts. Regenera
underscores Cemex’s objective of becoming a net-zero Co2 company by 2050.
