Bihar gets five new trains including daily Patna Delhi Amrit Bharat Express

In Bihar, the Indian Railways has introduced five new trains to boost connectivity in the state. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav made the announcement during his visit to Bihar on Monday stating that the new services will improve travel options across multiple routes including Patna Darbhanga Saharsa and Jogbani.

Of the five trains announced four will operate under the Amrit Bharat Express category. A daily Amrit Bharat Express train will run between Patna and Delhi enhancing connectivity on one of the state’s busiest corridors. Additionally weekly Amrit Bharat trains will be introduced between Darbhanga and Lucknow as well as between Malda Town and Lucknow. Another train will operate between Saharsa and Amritsar while a long haul route from Jogbani to Erode in Tamil Nadu will also be launched.

The Railway Minister also announced several infrastructure projects in Bihar aimed at modernising and expanding the railway network. These include a third line between Bhagalpur and Jamalpur spanning 53 kilometers at a cost of 1,156 crore rupees doubling of the 104 kilometer Bakhtiyarpur Rajgir Tilaiya section costing 2,017 crore rupees and the doubling of the 177 kilometer Rampur Hat to Bhagalpur line with an estimated cost of 3,000 crore rupees.

In addition to the railway initiatives Vaishnav stated that two Software Technology Parks of India will be inaugurated soon one in Patliputra costing 53 crore rupees and another in Darbhanga costing 10 crore rupees. These projects aim to foster digital infrastructure and employment opportunities in the state.

During his visit the minister conducted surprise inspections at multiple stations including Patna Hajipur Muzaffarpur Samastipur and Sonpur to review development works under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership over 33 thousand kilometers of new railway lines have been constructed in the last 11 years as part of a larger national development strategy.
