Gujarat, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced the full commercial operation of its 150 MW Dayapar Wind Energy Project (Phase-I) in Bhuj, marking a significant stride in India’s clean energy transition. The commissioning of the final 6 MW tranche underscores the nation’s accelerating shift towards sustainable power sources, aligning with ambitious targets for zero-net-carbon emissions and fostering environmentally conscious urban and industrial development across the country.

This milestone completes the entire 150 MW capacity of the Dayapar Wind Project, a crucial component of the larger 450 MW Hybrid Renewable Energy Project being spearheaded by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), a subsidiary of NGEL. The phased execution, with initial tranches commissioned in November 2023 and April 2025, demonstrates a systematic approach to expanding India’s renewable energy portfolio. This consistent growth in wind power capacity solidifies India’s position as a global leader in the clean energy market.

With the full commissioning of the Dayapar Wind Project, the NTPC Group’s total installed and commercial capacity has now reached an impressive 82,902 MW. This substantial increase in green energy generation capacity is vital for reducing India’s reliance on fossil fuels, thereby mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality. The operational update, formally disclosed to both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited, reflects the transparency and commitment of India’s largest integrated power producer towards its long-term renewable roadmap.
