Bengaluru commuters are facing renewed travel woes as traffic authorities announce diversions along the Outer Ring Road due to congestion and waterlogging. With rains expected to continue, new advisories have been issued for smoother passage, particularly around key IT corridors. The updated traffic plan aims to ease peak-hour stress for thousands travelling to and from major corporate hubs and residential areas in East Bengaluru.
Traffic authorities have issued a fresh advisory for commuters using the Outer Ring Road, especially the Bellandur–Devarabeesanahalli stretch. This corridor, a vital link for several tech parks and commercial zones, has seen repeated congestion complaints. To reduce delays during peak hours, commuters have been advised to switch to designated service roads. Officials also noted that waterlogging triggered by pre-monsoon showers is making daily traffic flow more challenging in these zones.
Employees heading to major offices like Global Tech Park, Intel, and Eco Space are advised to use the right lane of the Outer Ring Road and divert to the middle service road near Devarabeesanahalli Junction. Commuters bound for institutions like the Passport Office, Eco World, and Sakra Hospital should use the left lane and follow the Passport Office service road. These measures aim to decongest key entry points during rush hours.
Travellers en route to Marathahalli from Bellandur are urged to use the middle lane of the Outer Ring Road to prevent bottlenecks. Authorities stress that choosing the appropriate lane based on destination will minimise delays. With rain forecast over the coming days, planning alternate routes and obeying advisories is crucial. The traffic control strategy is part of a broader push to ensure safety and smoother vehicular flow amid unpredictable weather conditions.
