Bengaluru has welcomed the standalone debut of Ishaara by Bellona Hospitality on Church Street, introducing a distinctive dining experience that blends inclusion, empathy, and culinary innovation. The 3,000 sq. ft. indoor–outdoor restaurant, featuring a 700 sq. ft. verandah and seating for 112, is staffed by hearing and speech-impaired professionals, offering a “Sign-and-Dine” approach. With thoughtfully designed interiors and ingredient-forward cuisine, Ishaara sets a new benchmark for socially conscious and immersive urban hospitality in the city.

Designed by Mumbai-based Minnie Bhatt Design, the restaurant balances raw and refined elements to create a tactile and welcoming ambience. Concrete, warm wood, brass, and faux leather combine with greenery to foster a natural, human-centred environment. The verandah, with its elevated ceiling, transitions effortlessly from a sunlit daytime seating area to a relaxed evening bar, enhancing flexibility and encouraging social interaction. Every design choice is rooted in simplicity, tactility, and a sense of connection.Central to Ishaara’s ethos is inclusivity. The service team, composed of hearing and speech-impaired staff, communicates entirely through gestures, offering a unique hospitality experience that foregrounds empathy and attentiveness. Guests engage with the staff in a “Sign-and-Dine” framework, turning communication into an immersive, human-centric element of dining. This approach empowers professionals while simultaneously creating meaningful, memorable experiences for diners.
