The growth points to stronger demand for time-sensitive agricultural cargo through the city’s aviation network and highlights Bengaluru’s expanding role as a logistics gateway connecting regional producers with domestic and overseas markets.
The increase comes during a period when mango producers and exporters are seeking faster routes to distant markets. Air freight is particularly relevant for perishable produce because shorter transit times can help maintain freshness and reduce losses compared with slower transport options. Bengaluru’s location gives its airport access to one of India’s major horticultural production regions. Mangoes from Karnataka and neighbouring states can be consolidated through the airport before reaching consumers in other parts of the country or international destinations. This creates an important link between agricultural production and high-value urban markets.
