Anil Vij Thanks Gadkari, Seeks Green Cover for Haryana Highways
Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij has extended his gratitude to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for the development of key national highways across the state.
In a formal letter, Vij has requested that plantation drives be undertaken along both sides of these highways to promote environmental conservation and beautification. Acknowledging the role of NHAI under Gadkari’s leadership, Vij noted the construction of important routes such as NH-152D, the Jammu–Katra Expressway, Panipat–Rohtak, Ambala–Hisar, and Panchkula–Yamunanagar corridors. He stated that these projects have significantly improved connectivity and convenience for the people of Haryana.
In his communication, Vij urged that trees and plants be added along these highways to enhance their aesthetic appeal while contributing to the state’s green cover. He described the step as vital for balancing infrastructure growth with ecological responsibility.
Calling the highways a “gift to Haryana,” Vij reiterated the state’s commitment to sustainable development and requested support for tree plantation initiatives through NHAI.
