Air India Express Reschedules Pune-Bangkok Flights to December 21

Air India Express (AIX) has deferred the launch of its much-anticipated direct flight services from Pune and Surat to Bangkok by a day, rescheduling operations to December 21, 2024. This adjustment comes as part of the airline’s ambitious plans to connect 51 destinations across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, further strengthening its global network. The flights will operate thrice weekly, enhancing accessibility to Thailand’s bustling capital.

Flight IX 242 from Pune to Bangkok will depart at 8.40 am (IST), arriving at 2.30 pm (Thailand time), with return flight IX 241 departing Bangkok at 3.35 pm (Thailand time) and reaching Pune at 6.25 pm (IST). These services will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, catering to growing demand among business and leisure travellers. The airline also connects Pune to nine other destinations, including major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, and Chennai, offering 75 weekly flights.

Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, expressed his enthusiasm for the expansion, stating, “With Bangkok as our 50th destination, Air India Express is rapidly enhancing its presence in Southeast Asia while connecting emerging Indian economic hubs. This move reflects our commitment to foster tourism and trade, aligning with our strategy to bridge non-metros to global destinations.” The service is expected to attract passengers from Surat and Pune, boosting local economies and tourism.
