Air India Express has announced the launch of four new routes from Bhubaneswar, marking an important milestone in its ongoing network expansion in eastern India. Starting January 3, 2025, the airline will connect the Odisha capital to Jaipur and Kochi, followed by Lucknow on January 4 and Patna on January 15, offering more travel options and enhancing regional connectivity.
Bookings for these new routes are now open, with the first flights to Jaipur and Kochi scheduled to take off in early January. The addition of Lucknow and Patna routes soon after will further strengthen Air India Express’ presence in the region. This expansion is part of the airline’s efforts to cater to growing demand for both domestic and regional travel from Bhubaneswar. As part of the new services, Air India Express has unveiled a specially designed aircraft featuring an “Ikat livery,” celebrating the state’s rich cultural heritage. Ikat, a traditional fabric-dyeing technique known for its intricate patterns, is a symbol of Odisha’s vibrant artistic traditions, adding a unique touch to the airline’s fleet.
With the addition of these four new routes, Air India Express will operate 104 weekly flights from Bhubaneswar, further strengthening its domestic network. The airline already links Bhubaneswar to major hubs such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, and Pune, catering to a wide range of passenger needs. Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India and part of the Tata Group, operates over 400 daily flights, connecting 36 domestic and 15 international airports. The airline’s fleet includes 90 aircraft, with 61 Boeing 737s and 29 Airbus A320s, ensuring reliable and efficient service to its growing network. This strategic expansion demonstrates Air India Express’ commitment to enhancing connectivity in eastern India, providing passengers with more choices for travel while promoting regional economic growth.
