The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) is set to revolutionize education in the region by installing state-of-the-art robotics labs powered by artificial intelligence (AI) in all of its schools. This groundbreaking initiative aims to bridge the gap between government-funded and private institutions, providing students with cutting-edge learning opportunities.
The project, funded with INR 1.95 crore, marks a significant step forward in educational technology. MBMC has already shortlisted a vendor to equip its schools with the latest robotics kits, microcontrollers, sensors, motors, coding software, and other necessary resources. These AI-powered labs will empower students to explore the world of technology and develop essential skills for the 21st century. By building robots and electronic devices, students will gain hands-on experience in engineering, programming, and problem-solving. The labs will also foster creativity and innovation, encouraging students to think critically and experiment with different approaches.
MBMC’s education department currently oversees 36 schools serving 9,250 students, including 4,625 girls. The schools offer education up to the tenth grade in various languages, including Marathi, Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati, and semi-English. Recognizing the challenges faced by government-funded schools, MBMC adopted the Delhi Model for Smart Education in 2022. This initiative involved equipping schools with 65-inch smart TVs and Android smartphones to enhance connectivity and provide access to online resources. The introduction of these technologies has led to a significant increase in school enrollments.
