The partnership’s latest development has not only elevated the precision of parking and tolling systems in Taiwan and Thailand but is now set to influence highway tolling frameworks in India and Malaysia. At the core of this technology is the AAEON MAXER-2100, a server-grade AI inference system equipped with 13th Gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada GPUs. This powerful hardware enables real-time image recognition and plate detection, factoring in regional language nuances, diverse vehicle categories, and environmental variances such as lighting and visibility. Complemented by the BOXER-8621AI system-on-module running NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano, the infrastructure offers high-accuracy optical character recognition, even under fast-moving traffic conditions. For nations like India, where vehicular diversity and density are unparalleled, such a leap in AI performance could redefine how tolling and urban parking are managed.
The systems deployed by FETC are embedded with proprietary machine learning algorithms that enable smarter enforcement, seamless toll collection, and user-friendly parking experiences. The model already in place on Thailand’s Highway No. 9 offers a working example of how free-flow ETC (Electronic Toll Collection) can improve traffic efficiency while reducing human dependency and error. This is not only a shift towards automation but also a tangible solution in addressing fuel consumption, emissions, and traffic congestion—challenges endemic to urban India.
