As part of the traffic order, both carriageways of Palm Beach Road between two major junctions in Nerul will be closed to general traffic. The parallel service road running alongside this stretch will also be off-limits for parking and through movement. These controls will apply daily from early morning until midnight, continuing through the completion of all election-related procedures.
Traffic police officials said the decision was taken after assessing congestion risks and safety concerns. “Election operations require uninterrupted access for authorised vehicles and secure movement of sensitive materials. Regulating traffic in advance helps prevent last-minute disruptions and ensures public safety,” an official involved in the planning said. Only vehicles officially deployed for election duties will be permitted within the restricted zone. Emergency services, including ambulances, fire services and essential government vehicles, have been exempted to ensure that critical response times are not affected. To reduce inconvenience, motorists have been advised to rely on internal roads within adjacent residential sectors and plan journeys with additional travel time.
