Mumbai-based Indian Link Chain Manufacturers Ltd has moved to acquire a majority stake in RRP Electronics, signalling a strategic expansion into the semiconductor and home appliances sectors. The deal, currently in advanced stages, will allow the company to leverage RRP Electronics’ expertise in outsourced semiconductor assembly and electronics manufacturing, positioning it to tap into India’s growing high-tech and consumer appliance markets while diversifying from its traditional industrial chain business.
RRP Electronics specialises in advanced outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) services, covering chip packaging, electronics manufacturing, and integrated solutions for home appliances and industrial devices. By gaining a controlling stake, Indian Link Chain aims to combine its established industrial capabilities with RRP’s technical know-how, potentially accelerating India’s push towards domestic semiconductor production and high-value electronics manufacturing.“The acquisition represents a strategic pivot into fast-growing sectors like semiconductors and home appliances, which are central to India’s technology-driven manufacturing ambitions,” an official from Indian Link Chain said.
