In a bid to enhance travel convenience amid increasing passenger demand during the festive season, Indian Railways has announced the extension of the Hyderabad–Bhubaneswar New Weekly Special train services. The move aims to support safe, efficient, and sustainable travel while maintaining existing timings, stoppages, and coach compositions.
Train No. 07165 from Hyderabad to Bhubaneswar New will continue to operate on Tuesdays until 25th November 2025, while Train No. 07166 from Bhubaneswar New to Hyderabad will run on Wednesdays until 26th November 2025. The extension is expected to benefit thousands of festival-goers, ensuring smoother connectivity and reduced travel disruptions.
The extended service will cover key stations along the route, including Secunderabad, Charlapalli, Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Sattenapalli, Guntur, Vijayawada, Gudivada, Kaikaluru, Akividu, Bhimavaram, Tanuku, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Annavaram, Anakapalli, Duvvada, Kottavalasa, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, Palasa, Brahmapur, Khurda Road, and finally Bhubaneswar. This route strategically connects major urban and semi-urban nodes, supporting both business and leisure travel while promoting regional mobility.
The train composition is designed to cater to diverse passenger requirements, comprising 2nd AC-4, 3rd AC-8, Sleeper-6, General Class-2, a Second Class luggage cum Divyangjan coach, and Generator Motor Cars-1. The inclusion of facilities for Divyangjan passengers underscores the railways’ commitment to equitable and inclusive travel solutions, in line with sustainable mobility goals.Officials emphasised that the extension aligns with the broader objectives of eco-friendly and efficient transportation, reducing reliance on road travel during the festival season, thereby lowering carbon emissions and promoting a more sustainable urban transport ecosystem.
