Northeast India conducts test ride on Bairabi Sairang railway line
Mizoram witnessed a landmark moment as a trial run was carried out on the newly constructed Bairabi–Sairang railway line, setting the stage for its upcoming inauguration. The 51.38-km stretch represents the state’s first direct integration with the national railway grid and is poised to reshape connectivity, trade, and economic growth in the region.The test ride, conducted under the supervision of railway officials and local representatives, marked not only a technical assessment but also an emotional milestone for communities along the route.
