The Uttarpara facility is a vibrant hub of engineering and manufacturing, where intricate components, from car bodies and sophisticated HVAC systems to propulsion units, are seamlessly integrated. The efficiency of production, with a metro coach typically valued around ₹10 crore and maintaining healthy EBITDA margins of approximately 10%, reflects the company’s operational strength. Beyond metro systems, Titagarh is actively preparing for the rollout of the Vande Bharat Express sleeper variant, with a prototype expected soon and full deployment slated for the next calendar year. Titagarh’s robust order book, currently standing at approximately 11,000 wagons, underscores the strong and consistent demand from Indian Railways. This substantial pipeline of projects, combined with the company’s continuous investment in a new wheels facility and a strong emphasis on localisation, reinforces its role as a critical indigenous player in India’s rail sector.
