Mumbai’s Shivaji Park in Dadar is set to host the Maharashtra Day parade on May 1, 2025, commemorating the state’s formation.
In anticipation of the event, the Mumbai Traffic Police have announced comprehensive traffic regulations to ensure smooth proceedings and public safety.​ From 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM on May 1, several roads in the vicinity of Shivaji Park will undergo closures and diversions. Keluskar Road North and South, along with S. K. Bole Road, will be closed to all vehicular traffic, except for authorized invitees. Additionally, one-way traffic will be enforced on S. K. Bole Road from Siddhivinayak Junction to Portuguese Church Junction, and on Swatantraveer Savarkar Road from Siddhivinayak Junction to Yes Bank Junction.​
Motorists intending to travel from Siddhivinayak Junction through Swatantraveer Savarkar Road to the Western Suburbs are advised to take a right turn at Siddhivinayak Junction, proceed via S. K. Bole Road, take a left turn at Portuguese Church Junction, and continue through Gokhale Road, Gadkari Junction, L. J. Road, and Raja Bade Chowk towards the Western Suburbs. Conversely, vehicles heading towards South Mumbai should take a left turn at Yes Bank Junction, proceed through Pandurang Naik Road, right turn at Raja Bade Chowk, L. J. Road, Gadkari Junction, and continue through Gokhale Road towards South Mumbai.​
To facilitate the event, parking will be prohibited on several roads, including Keluskar Road (Main, South & North), Lt. Dilip Gupte Road from Keluskar Road (North) to Pandurang Naik Road, Pandurang Naik Road (Road No. 5), N. C. Kelkar Road from Gadkari Chowk to Kotwal Garden, and Saint Dnyaneshwar Road. Designated parking areas for police, BMC, PWD, and other government vehicles include Veer Savarkar Smarak Hall, Vanita Samaj Hall, Mahatma Gandhi Swimming Pool, and Kohinoor Public Parking Lot on N. C. Kelkar Road, Dadar (W).​ For invitees attending the parade, specific routes have been designated based on their point of origin. Invitees from South and Central Mumbai are directed to use Tilak Flyover Bridge, Kotwal Garden Circle, N. C. Kelkar Road, Gadkari Junction, Meenatai Thackeray Statue, Keluskar Road North, Shivaji Park Gate No. 5, C. Ramchandra Chowk, and Swatantraveer Savarkar Road South, entering through Shivaji Park Gate No. 1. Invitees from South Mumbai via Dr. Annie Besant Road should proceed through Century Junction, Swatantraveer Savarkar Road, Siddhivinayak Junction, Vasant Desai Chowk (Keluskar South Junction), and enter through Shivaji Park Gate No. 1. Invitees from Western Suburbs through Mahim Old Cadell Road should proceed via Mahim Junction, Old Cadell Road, Hinduja Hospital, Swatantraveer Savarkar Road South, Vasant Desai Chowk, and enter through Shivaji Park Gate No. 1. Those coming via Mahim L. J. Road should proceed through Mahim Church, Lady Jamshedji Road, Raja Bade Chowk, Gadkari Chowk, N. C. Kelkar Road, Meenatai Thackeray Statue, Keluskar Road North, Shivaji Park Gate No. 5, C. Ramchandra Chowk, Swatantraveer Savarkar Road South, and enter through Shivaji Park Gate No. 1.​
The parade will commence from Shivaji Park Gate No. 5, proceed left on Keluskar Road (North), left on C. Ramchandra Chowk, left on South S. Sawarkar Road, Sangeetkar Vasant Desai Chowk (Keluskar Road South Junction), and conclude at Naarli Baug.​ To minimize inconvenience, motorists are urged to avoid the affected routes between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Signage and police personnel will be stationed at various locations to guide motorists and pedestrians. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with the authorities to ensure the event’s success and public safety.
