Sabari Portal Brings Sabarimala Services and Emergencies Online

The Sabari Portal and WhatsApp chatbot have been launched to bring transport, healthcare, emergency assistance, complaints and pilgrimage information for Sabarimala devotees onto a single digital platform, Kerala Revenue Minister A P Anilkumar said at the inauguration.

Available at sabariportaldcpta.in on mobile phones and computers, the portal is designed to reduce the need for pilgrims to approach multiple government departments. It also gives authorities a common system to monitor departmental activity, track complaints and review action taken.

The platform includes a link for Virtual Queue booking and facilities to report missing persons, lost mobile phones and other belongings. Complaints about missing pilgrims are forwarded to the Police Control Room, while complainants receive updates on action taken through WhatsApp. Users can also submit details and photographs of found articles.

Its Sabari Map provides locations of drinking water points, toilets, medical assistance centres, hospitals, police services, parking facilities, rest centres and ATM counters at Pamba, Nilakkal and Sannidhanam. With mobile location services enabled, pilgrims can identify nearby facilities and access directions through Google Maps.

The portal also carries information on darshan waiting times, the number of pilgrims who have completed darshan, pooja timings, darshan schedules and the water level at the Pamba Triveni bathing ghat. It provides updates on whether the bathing ghat is open or closed, along with official announcements, alerts, pilgrim guidelines and trekking routes.

Transport information has been integrated with the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation system. Pilgrims can view long-distance services from Pamba, Nilakkal-Pamba chain services and special Sabarimala bus services available within the next 30 minutes and one hour. The portal directs users to the KSRTC website for ticket booking. Train schedules at Chengannur, Thiruvalla and Kottayam railway stations are also available.

Healthcare information includes the locations and contact numbers of government hospitals and medical colleges across Kerala, with an option to call hospitals directly. The platform records outpatient and inpatient details, patient referrals and follow-up treatment. Hospitals have dedicated referral logins, while information on patients transferred between hospitals can be monitored. Reports of deaths automatically trigger email notifications to senior officials, including the District Collector.

Pilgrims can also access accommodation and parking information and use a price-monitoring facility for shops at Pamba, Nilakkal and Sannidhanam. Official commodity prices are available in multiple languages. The Check My Bill facility allows users to verify prices and complain if shops charge more than the listed amount or fail to issue bills.

Complaints relating to sanitation, public toilets, KSRTC services and the Devaswom Board are forwarded to relevant control rooms and inspection squads. Complainants receive updates through WhatsApp. The platform also provides direct calling facilities for emergency numbers 112, 1077, 108, 100 and 101.

The WhatsApp-based Sabari Chatbot offers information on travel, transportation, accommodation, healthcare, darshan and emergency assistance through a conversational interface. An administrative dashboard supports staff nomination, duty allocation, attendance monitoring and activity reporting across departments involved in pilgrimage arrangements. Duty orders are sent to employees through WhatsApp and to concerned offices by email.

Sanitation at Sannidhanam has been divided into 15 sectors, with designated officers supervising approximately 300 to 400 sanitation workers. Supervisory officers receive automated tickets on their mobile phones every three hours to record cleaning work and report issues. The portal also supports the functioning of three Emergency Operations Centres under the State Disaster Management Authority and District Disaster Management Authority, according to the report.
