Ahmedabad Assault Video Leads to Seven Arrests in Saijpur Bogha

Ahmedabad Police have arrested seven people after a video showing the alleged public assault of a 36-year-old security guard in Saijpur Bogha circulated on social media, according to a report by Sandesh. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Krishnanagar police station and was reportedly linked to an earlier dispute.

The victim, identified in the report as Kapilbhai Lute, was allegedly called to a location on the pretext of settling the dispute. The report said that Rahul Luhar and other alleged assailants then arrived and attacked him in a group. He was allegedly beaten with fists and belts and chased along the road while being struck.

According to the report, the assault was recorded on a mobile phone and the video was later circulated on social media. The alleged attackers also reportedly spread a false claim that the security guard had harassed someone, apparently to discourage local residents and passers-by from intervening or helping him.

The report further said that the attackers threatened to kill the victim if he approached the police. The incident therefore combined an alleged physical assault with intimidation and the circulation of a video intended to amplify fear in the locality.

Krishnanagar police began investigating after the video surfaced online. Sandesh reported that the police used technical surveillance and information from informants to identify those allegedly involved. Seven people, including the alleged main conspirator, have been arrested in connection with the case.

The report did not provide the names of all seven arrested individuals, the specific sections of law invoked, or details about the victim’s medical condition. It also did not state whether the police had recovered the devices used to record or circulate the video.

Police have initiated criminal proceedings against the arrested suspects, according to the report. Officers are also continuing efforts to trace other people who may have been involved and remain at large. The arrests mark the immediate police response to a case in which a street-level assault, alleged threats and social-media circulation became part of the same public-order incident.
