Mumbai Railway Ticketing System Offline for 5 Hours This Weekend

Mumbai railway passengers will face a temporary disruption in services this weekend as the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) goes offline for scheduled maintenance. From 11:45 pm on Saturday, December 14, to 4:45 am on Sunday, December 15, the system will be unavailable for five hours, impacting various essential services.

During this maintenance window, passengers will not be able to book or cancel tickets online, inquire about train schedules, or access other reservation-related services. Services like current reservations, touch screen kiosks, ticket refunds, chart displays, and the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) will also be temporarily suspended. Central Railway has informed that, despite these disruptions, Train Departure Refunds (TDRs) will still be processed in line with existing refund policies. The railway authorities have advised passengers to plan accordingly and seek alternative methods for ticket bookings or queries during the maintenance period.

The scheduled downtime is part of routine system upkeep, aimed at improving the functionality and reliability of the PRS. As this period coincides with late-night and early-morning hours, it is expected to impact a smaller number of passengers, though those needing to travel or resolve ticket-related issues are urged to make necessary arrangements in advance. Railway users are advised to check the latest updates from the Central Railway Administration to avoid inconvenience. The system is expected to resume normal operations promptly at 4:45 am on Sunday, December 15.
