ST NCMC Card Booking Gets Free Priority Slots and Home Delivery

ST NCMC card booking has become easier for Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation passengers, with the corporation launching an online priority-queue slot facility that allows applicants to schedule registration in advance instead of waiting in a general queue.

The facility was reported from Pimpri on October 31 and is available through the ST website. After selecting the online ticket-booking option, passengers can choose an advance appointment for NCMC card registration and obtain a priority token online. The token can then be shown at any authorised ST outside agent in Maharashtra for registration.

The priority slot booking is free. According to the information issued by the corporation and reported by Lokmat – Pune, the token gives the applicant a place in the priority queue and is intended to reduce the time spent waiting at the registration point. The facility is part of ST’s effort to make the registration process more convenient for passengers seeking the National Common Mobility Card.

The officially prescribed charge for the new NCMC card is Rs 199. No additional or higher activation charge is to be collected from applicants. The corporation has asked passengers not to pay more than the authorised fee to agents.

If an agent demands an additional amount, passengers can submit a complaint using the assistance details displayed on the portal after the token is generated. Arun Siya, controller of the Pune division of the ST corporation, said action would be taken against agents collecting excess money and urged passengers to report such demands.

The priority token remains valid for up to 48 hours. A citizen can book a maximum of five priority tokens. These conditions are intended to regulate access to the facility while allowing applicants some flexibility in choosing when to complete registration.

Passengers who want the card delivered to their homes can select the ‘home delivery’ option shown below the form while booking the slot. After the option is selected, an ST team will contact the passenger. The information provided does not specify the delivery timeline, delivery charge or the areas covered by this service.

The new system shifts the first step of NCMC registration online but still requires applicants using the priority-token route to complete registration through an authorised agent, unless the home-delivery process is completed through the option provided on the portal. Applicants should retain their token details, pay only the notified Rs 199 card fee and use the portal’s assistance facility if they face an excess-charge demand.
