Delhi Train Timetable Changes Affect 45 Services From October 28

Northern Railway has revised the timings, terminals and routes of 45 trains arriving in or departing from Delhi, with changes taking effect on different dates from October 28 through December 2026 and January 2027. Passengers have been advised to verify their train details before travelling through the National Train Enquiry System or railway helpline 139.

The revisions affect services linked to New Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal, Shakurbasti, Delhi and Ghaziabad. The changes include revised arrival and departure timings, terminal shifts and route alterations, with some services changing by between five and 20 minutes.

The Purva Express, train number 12381, will arrive at New Delhi at 6:20 am from October 28 and depart for Shakurbasti at 6:45 am. It is scheduled to reach Shakurbasti at 7:20 am. In the reverse direction, the train will operate from Shakurbasti instead of New Delhi on October 29 and 30.

The terminal of the Prayagraj–New Delhi Humsafar Express, train number 12275, will be shifted from New Delhi to Anand Vihar Terminal from January 1, 2027. The train is scheduled to arrive at Anand Vihar at 6:25 am. The terminal change for its return service will take effect from January 2.

The revised schedule also covers the Vaishali Express, Duronto Express, Rewa Express, Prayagraj Express, Kaifiyat Express and Tejas Rajdhani, among other trains. Their arrival and departure timings at Delhi, Ghaziabad and Anand Vihar will change on different dates.

The Lucknow Mail will reach Ghaziabad at 6:01 am from October 28 and arrive at New Delhi at 7 am. The departure time of the Ghaziabad–Delhi EMU service will also be advanced. These adjustments are particularly relevant to passengers connecting between long-distance trains, suburban services and city transport during the morning peak.

Another change concerns the Nauchandi Express. From January 1, 2027, it will operate via Transport Nagar and Utrathia instead of the existing route through Lucknow station, according to the report.

The revisions underline the operational links between Delhi’s major railway terminals and the wider regional network. A terminal change can alter how passengers reach a train, especially when journeys are planned around New Delhi, Anand Vihar or Shakurbasti. Even small timing changes can affect connections with suburban trains, buses and last-mile transport.

Northern Railway has directed passengers to check the updated information on the NTES platform or through helpline 139 before leaving for the station. The revised timings will apply according to the individual implementation dates announced for each service.
