JK Cement reported a 6.31 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to ₹169.3 crore for the September quarter of FY2026-27, while the company approved plans for a new water-based paint plant in Telangana as it expands its presence across construction materials.
The company’s profit increased from ₹159.25 crore in the July-September quarter of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations rose 23.65 per cent to ₹3,733.42 crore from ₹3,019.20 crore a year earlier.
JK Cement attributed the performance to robust volume growth and higher profitability despite cost pressures. Its grey cement sales volume increased 21 per cent to 5.37 million tonnes during the quarter, while white cement volume rose 13 per cent to 0.49 million tonnes.
The increase in sales was accompanied by higher expenditure. Total expenses rose 24.34 per cent to ₹3,515.71 crore in the quarter, while total income, including other income, increased 22.84 per cent to ₹3,771.29 crore.
The company’s board also took note of and approved a proposal from its wholly owned subsidiary, JK Maxx Paints Ltd, to establish a water-based paint manufacturing plant at Raghunadhapalem in Telangana’s Suryapet district. The facility will have an annual capacity of 75,000 kilolitres.
The plant is expected to require a capital expenditure of ₹130 crore. Funding will come from the ₹600 crore investment in the paints business that the board has already approved. JK Cement said the facility is expected to be commissioned within 12 months of the start of construction.
JK Maxx Paints currently operates a plant at Bhiwadi in Rajasthan with annual capacity of 73,000 kilolitres. The facility is operating at 60 per cent utilisation, according to the company. JK Cement expects the existing plant to reach full utilisation by FY28, creating the need for additional capacity.
The proposed Telangana facility will add to the company’s manufacturing footprint beyond cement and white cement. The announcement comes as the company reports higher volumes in both its grey and white cement businesses, although the filings do not provide further details on the plant’s construction schedule, product distribution plans or employment impact.
The company’s latest filings provide the financial results and the approved capacity proposal. The next stated milestone is the commencement of construction, after which the Telangana plant is expected to be commissioned within 12 months.
