Ahmedabad Staff Bus Accident Injures Three on Cadila Bridge

An Ahmedabad staff bus accident on Cadila Bridge injured three people after the vehicle collided with a stationary waste dumper on the road between Isanpur and Jashodanagar on Friday night, according to a report by Gujarat Samachar – Ahmedabad. The injured included the bus driver and two employees travelling in the vehicle.

The collision took place while the private company’s staff bus was carrying employees back towards Ahmedabad from the Sanand area. The dumper was reportedly stranded in the middle of the bridge and had stopped functioning. As the bus approached, a car coming from the opposite direction switched on its dipper lights, according to the report.

The bus driver, identified as Narendra Singh Zala, attempted to avoid a collision with the approaching car. During the manoeuvre, the bus struck the rear portion of the stationary dumper. The impact occurred on the Cadila Bridge, which connects the Isanpur and Jashodanagar sides of the city.

Zala, who lives in Adishwarnagar in Naroda and works as a company bus driver, was among those injured. The other two injured employees were identified as Vishalsinh Barot and Ashokkumar Parmar. Both were reportedly standing near the bus door when the collision occurred.

The three people suffered what were described as minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment with the assistance of local residents. The report did not provide details about the hospital, the condition of the injured after treatment or the extent of damage to the bus and dumper.

The incident has also raised a road-safety concern about the presence of a disabled heavy vehicle in the middle of a bridge at night. The supplied report does not state whether the dumper had warning lights, reflective markings, cones or other traffic-safety measures in place. It also does not specify how long the vehicle had remained stranded before the crash.

The J Division Traffic Police recorded an entry regarding the incident and began further legal investigation. The police inquiry is expected to establish the circumstances of the collision, including the position of the dumper, visibility on the bridge and the actions of the vehicles involved. No further official findings were provided in the report.
