Bengaluru Metro Extends Late-Night Services for October 17 T20

Bengaluru’s Namma Metro will run extended late-night services for spectators attending the T20 cricket match in the city on Saturday, October 17, with trains operating from key terminal stations until as late as 1.30 a.m. on Sunday, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said.

The extended services will continue beyond the usual 11 p.m. schedule to support the movement of spectators after the match. BMRCL said the last train from Whitefield (Kadugodi) will depart at midnight, while the last train from Challaghatta will leave at 12.15 a.m.

On the Green Line, the last trains from Silk Institute and Madavara will depart at 12.15 a.m. On the Yellow Line, the final train from Bommasandra will leave at midnight, while the last train from R.V. Road will depart at 1.30 a.m.

The final train from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, Majestic, towards all four directions will depart at 1 a.m., according to a BMRCL press release issued on Friday, October 16.

Spectators will also be able to use QR codes embedded in their digital match tickets for two-way Namma Metro journeys. The arrangement is intended to allow ticket holders to use the Metro for both the onward and return journeys connected to the match.

BMRCL has advised spectators to select stations according to the stadium gates they will use. Those entering through gates on Cubbon Road have been advised to use Cubbon Park Metro station. Spectators accessing the stadium through gates on Link Road have been advised to use Mahatma Gandhi Road Metro station, which is the closest station to those gates.

The station guidance is aimed at distributing passenger movement across the Metro stations nearest to the relevant entry points. BMRCL has also said it reserves the right to regulate or temporarily close station entry points in the interest of passenger safety and security.

The service extension applies to the match scheduled in Bengaluru on Saturday and will continue into the early hours of Sunday. The last-train timings vary by corridor and terminal station, while the Majestic interchange will remain a key point for passengers travelling towards the four directions.
