The Green Key Certification is a globally acknowledged eco-label, awarded to establishments in the tourism and hospitality sectors that excel in environmental management. With over 4,000 certified establishments across 60 countries, Green Key represents the highest standard in sustainability within the industry. The certification process for Novotel Mumbai involved a rigorous environmental audit that scrutinised the hotel’s practices across various aspects such as energy efficiency, waste management, water conservation, and overall sustainability. The hotel has adopted numerous initiatives aimed at conserving resources and reducing its environmental footprint.
Key measures include the installation of a wastewater treatment plant, implementation of a rainwater harvesting system, and systems for greywater reuse. Additionally, the property has invested in solar power, energy-efficient lighting, and the elimination of single-use plastics. The hotel also prioritises the use of eco-friendly laundry detergents, digital room keys, and natural light maximisation. Furthermore, Novotel Mumbai focuses on utilising compressed natural gas and promotes local and seasonal food options.
