Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has launched the Agartala Rapid Response Team with 10 vehicles equipped with advanced facilities and an AI-enabled system for handling civic complaints across the Agartala Municipal Corporation area.
The vehicles were flagged off on Friday as part of a new service delivery initiative intended to help the team respond more quickly to civic challenges across all AMC zones. The state government has invested Rs 2.78 crore in the rapid response vehicles and truck-mounted water tankers.
The initiative also introduces a WhatsApp-based system through which residents can report complaints and make calls to the service platform. According to the government, the calling feature and AI-driven response mechanism are designed to provide residents with an additional channel for raising civic issues and to improve the speed of municipal responses.
Saha said the system aims to transform the municipal corporation into a “zero complaint” zone. He described the rollout as the first introduction of such services in Tripura and said it would strengthen citizen-centric service delivery throughout the AMC area.
The new fleet combines mobile civic-response resources with a technology-based complaint system. The vehicles are intended to support on-ground action, while the WhatsApp and calling facilities are expected to make it easier for residents to communicate service-related problems to the municipal administration. The announcement did not specify response-time targets, the categories of complaints covered or the operating arrangements for the vehicles.
Saha also referred to the Amar Sarkar portal, saying it had benefited residents of Tripura. The new rapid response platform is being introduced alongside that existing citizen-facing system, giving residents another mechanism to engage with the government on local civic issues.
The launch was held alongside the foundation-laying ceremony for two water projects in Agartala. Saha said access to safe drinking water was essential to creating a citizen-friendly environment and stated that the government was committed to ensuring safe drinking water availability in every AMC ward.
The chief minister said the government was using advanced technology for infrastructure development and renovation and was working to improve civic facilities. The newly launched vehicles, truck-mounted water tankers and complaint-response channels will operate within the Agartala Municipal Corporation area as part of the government’s effort to address civic concerns and strengthen municipal service delivery.
