Hyderabad traffic restrictions at the Vaishali Nagar Railway underpass in Miyapur will continue from October 8 to October 14, as the Cyberabad Traffic Police allow the newly laid road surface to cure and gain adequate strength. The extension will affect routes connecting My Home Mangala, Hafeezpet, Kondapur, Raghavendra Nagar Colony and nearby residential areas.
According to the traffic advisory, road widening and storm water drain works at the underpass have been completed, but vehicles will remain restricted for another week to protect the new surface and support its durability. The advisory sets out diversions for traffic approaching the underpass from several directions.
Vehicles travelling from My Home Mangala Apartments towards Hafeezpet through the underpass will be diverted at the My Home Mangala T-junction. They will then take a U-turn towards Raghavendra Nagar Colony, turn left at the Raghavendra Nagar Colony Junction and continue along Hi-Tension Road. Vehicles will turn left at the Regional Transport Authority office in Kondapur before proceeding through the Hafeezpet road-over-bridge to reach Hafeezpet.
Traffic travelling from the Telangana Contractors Cultural Club towards the Vaishali Nagar Railway Underpass will also be diverted at the My Home Mangala T-junction. Commuters will be directed towards Raghavendra Nagar Colony, Hi-Tension Road and the RTA office in Kondapur before using the Hafeezpet road-over-bridge or flyover towards Hafeezpet and Allwyn Junction.
Vehicles from the rear gate of My Home Jewel, RTC Colony and Manjeera Pipeline Road heading towards My Home Mangala and Raghavendra Nagar Colony will be diverted along the pipeline road towards the Hafeezpet road-over-bridge. They will then turn left near Genpact, join the Kondapur-Allwyn Junction Road, take a U-turn at the Government School and use the Hafeezpet road-over-bridge towards Kondapur and Raghavendra Nagar Colony.
Similar diversions will apply to traffic from Vasavi Lake City and Hafeezpet Lake towards My Home Mangala and Raghavendra Nagar Colony. Such vehicles will be diverted at Spire One Apartments, take a U-turn towards the Hafeezpet road-over-bridge, turn left near Genpact and join the Kondapur-Allwyn Junction Road before using the Government School U-turn and the flyover.
Traffic from Gopal Nagar and Calvary Temple towards My Home Mangala will have to turn right at the Hafeezpet road-under-bridge or underpass, join the Kondapur-Allwyn Junction Road and take the Government School U-turn. It will then proceed via the Hafeezpet road-over-bridge towards Kondapur and Raghavendra Nagar Colony.
The restrictions are scheduled to remain in force through October 14, according to the Cyberabad Traffic Police advisory. Commuters using the underpass and surrounding routes will need to follow the designated diversions until the road surface curing period is complete.
