Bengaluru waterlogging caused severe traffic disruption across several arterial roads on Monday evening after a sudden downpour coincided with the city’s peak commuting hours.
Traffic movement was affected on both sides of the road from Srinivagilu towards Airview, according to traffic police. Vehicles on the Thanisandra-Nagawara stretch also moved slowly in both directions after water accumulated on the road.
A commuter travelling towards Nagawara said the waterlogging had made the road difficult to navigate and left vehicles moving bumper to bumper. The Balagere Circle-Kadubeesanahalli stretch also witnessed sluggish traffic, particularly for motorists heading towards Kadubeesanahalli.
Disruptions were reported near Vaddarapalya Junction towards Geddalahalli, where traffic moved slowly in both directions. A motorist near Geddalahalli posted on X that a journey normally taking 30 minutes had already exceeded an hour.
Waterlogging was also reported near Vidyashilpa towards Coffee Day, adding to delays for motorists using the connecting roads. The rain affected multiple locations as traffic volumes were already high during the evening rush.
The affected stretches included major arterial and connecting roads serving residential, commercial and employment areas in Bengaluru. The reported accumulation of water slowed vehicle movement and increased travel times across different parts of the city.
Traffic police information and commuter accounts indicated that movement remained affected on the reported stretches. No further official details on the duration of the disruption or water-clearance measures were provided in the report.
