Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a leading name in construction and infrastructure, has been awarded a substantial contract by the City and Industrial Development Corporation Limited (CIDCO).
The order, part of the Integrated Infrastructure Development initiative within the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) Project, reflects L&T’s strategic positioning in the transportation infrastructure sector. The contract, estimated to be valued between INR 2,500 crore and INR 5,000 crore, is a significant win for L&T’s Transportation Infrastructure vertical. The scope of the project encompasses the development of major roadways, including 60-metre and 45-metre wide roads, alongside various structures and associated electrical works.
This ambitious project will see the construction of four key approach roads, stretching a total of 13.28 kilometres. It includes the erection of nine major structures, notably three iconic steel bridges spanning the Kalundre River and the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Additionally, the contract covers twelve minor bridges, twenty-seven underpasses, and essential approaches to these structures. The infrastructure will be complemented by comprehensive utility and electrical installations.
The scale of the project highlights L&T’s capability to handle complex and large-scale infrastructure developments. The inclusion of notable elements like iconic steel bridges underscores the project’s significance within the broader Navi Mumbai development strategy. The integration of various infrastructure components aims to enhance connectivity and support the overall growth of the region, aligning with CIDCO’s vision for a modern and efficient urban environment. As the project progresses, it will likely contribute significantly to the urban landscape of Navi Mumbai, enhancing both its connectivity and infrastructure robustness.
