The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation will publish merit lists for 15 cadres in its ongoing recruitment process on 7 October 2026, following an order issued by the Bombay High Court on 16 September. Candidates will be able to view the lists on the civic body’s official website.
The decision covers posts in Group C and Group D categories recruited through direct service appointments. The recruitment process was initiated through advertisement number Aastha/01/2025, issued on 27 March 2025. The civic body subsequently published a corrigendum on 29 April 2025.
The 15 cadres include junior engineer (biomedical engineer), garden superintendent, assistant information and public relations officer, statistical assistant, ECG technician, central sterile services department technician, diet technician, ophthalmic assistant, health assistant (female), livestock supervisor, sound operator, accounts clerk, post-mortem assistant, ward attendant or aya, and ward servant.
The merit lists are being issued in accordance with the Bombay High Court’s order dated 16 September 2026. The announcement follows the publication of candidates’ scorecards on the NMMC’s official website on 11 September.
For candidates, the merit list will mark the next formal stage in a recruitment process that began with the 2025 advertisement. The list is expected to identify the candidates ranked for the 15 specified cadres based on the recruitment process and scores already made available by the municipal corporation.
The range of posts involved also reflects the varied staffing requirements of a city corporation. The list includes technical positions linked to healthcare and municipal services, administrative and accounts roles, public communication, horticulture, livestock supervision and ward-level support. These posts are part of the regular establishment of the civic body.
NMMC has directed candidates to check the official website for the merit lists when they are released on 7 October. The report does not specify any further appointment schedule or the number of vacancies in each cadre.
