Navi Mumbai residents can file claims and objections against the revised draft voter list until September 30 under the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign, with the final electoral roll scheduled for publication on November 4, 2026.
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has urged voters to check the draft list and seek corrections if their name, address or other details are inaccurate. Citizens can also object to incorrect or duplicate entries in the list during the claims and objections period.
The revised draft voter list was published on August 31. Claims and objections can be submitted from August 31 to September 30, after which the applications will be scrutinised. The disposal of the received claims and objections is scheduled to be completed by October 29.
The SIR exercise is being conducted to make electoral rolls more accurate, updated and transparent. For Navi Mumbai residents, the current stage provides an opportunity to verify whether their names and personal details have been correctly recorded before the final list is issued.
Three forms are available for different types of requests. Form 6 can be used to seek the inclusion of an eligible person’s name in the voter list, including cases where an eligible citizen was left out of the roll. Form 7 is meant for objections to an incorrect or duplicate name and for requests to remove a name from the list.
Form 8 can be used to request corrections or changes to details such as the voter’s name, age, address and photograph. Residents should select the form corresponding to the change or objection they wish to submit and complete the process within the specified deadline.
The revision process places the responsibility for checking the draft list partly on voters, who are expected to verify their entries and report discrepancies. The process also gives citizens a formal channel to raise objections to duplicate or incorrect registrations before the final roll is prepared.
According to the schedule cited by the Navi Mumbai civic administration, scrutiny and disposal of claims and objections will continue after the September 30 deadline, with the final voter list due to be published on November 4, 2026. The civic appeal is for residents to review the draft list and complete any necessary correction, inclusion or objection process before the deadline.
