Multiple Delhi schools and the Dr. S.P.M. Civic Centre received bomb threat emails on Monday morning, September 21, prompting anti-sabotage searches by the Delhi Police, Delhi Fire Services and other security agencies. No bomb or suspicious object had been found at any of the locations as of 1.28 p.m., police said.
The Delhi Fire Services received five calls linked to bomb threats between 9.41 a.m. and 11.11 a.m. The first call came from Mother International School in Hauz Khas at 9.41 a.m. The threat at the school was later declared a hoax after verification and searches of the premises.
A call concerning Navy Children’s School in Chanakyapuri was received at 10.34 a.m., followed by one concerning Bal Bharati School in Sector 14, Rohini, at 10.50 a.m. Calls were also received from Springdales School, Salwan Public School and Bal Bharati Public School under the Rajender Nagar police station area. St. Thomas’ School and Juniors’ School under the Karol Bagh police station area were also among the locations mentioned.
A similar threat email was received at the Dr. S.P.M. Civic Centre, the headquarters of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, which falls under the Kamla Market police station. A senior Central district police official said several other establishments had also received threats. At least five schools in the Central district were among the affected locations, the official said.
Police and emergency response teams carried out anti-sabotage checks at the premises. Such operations involve securing locations and restricting movement while bomb detection and disposal teams, supported by trained dog squads, conduct systematic searches for explosive material or other suspicious objects.
The repeated threats required coordinated responses across police jurisdictions, schools, the fire service and municipal authorities. The operations also affected institutions serving large numbers of students and employees, although the supplied report did not specify whether schools were evacuated, classes suspended or students sent home.
Monday’s threats came amid a series of similar emails targeting schools and public institutions in Delhi in recent weeks. On September 15, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, The British School, Air Force Bal Bharati School and Carmel Convent School were among the schools that received threats. Searches were conducted and the threats were subsequently declared hoaxes.
Earlier in September, multiple schools and government establishments, including the Delhi Assembly, the Civic Centre and the Mayor’s Office, had also received bomb threat emails. Police are now examining the contents of the latest messages and investigating their source. Further inquiry into the emails remains underway.
