Mooving, a leading battery swapping network powered by Livguard and a brand under the SAR Group, has announced a strategic partnership with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). This collaboration will enable Mooving to install its automated battery swapping stations at over 22,000 HPCL retail outlets across India, marking a pivotal development in the nation’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.
Over the forthcoming year, Mooving and HPCL plan to deploy more than 500 automated battery swapping stations. These cutting-edge stations will utilise Mooving’s fully automated, man-less technology, setting new benchmarks in convenience and operational efficiency. This ambitious rollout aims to substantially enhance battery swapping services, expedite the adoption of electric mobility, and support EV users across various regions.
HPCL, with its extensive network of over 22,000 retail outlets nationwide, has been at the forefront of efforts to decarbonise the mobility sector. The corporation has previously installed more than 3,700 EV charging stations to address range anxiety among electric vehicle users. Through this partnership, Mooving will leverage HPCL’s widespread presence and its innovative battery swapping solutions to drive the next phase of EV infrastructure development, reinforcing India’s green economy. The agreement, formalised by the general manager of HPCL’s retail strategy and business development, marks a significant milestone in Mooving’s mission to expand its footprint. “Combining our automated technology with HPCL’s extensive network allows us to set a new standard for battery swapping services in India,” stated the President of Lectrix EV and Mooving. “This initiative not only establishes one of the largest automated battery swapping networks in the country but also fosters economic growth through job creation and innovation within the EV ecosystem.”
The partnership will facilitate the growth of a comprehensive battery swapping network across India, making electric vehicle ownership more accessible and convenient. By offering Battery as a Service (BaaS), which encompasses battery costs, maintenance, and charging, Mooving is advancing the adoption of electric vehicles and reinforcing its leadership in the EV energy sector. This strategic move underscores the company’s commitment to driving forward the green mobility revolution in India.
